September 2024 - We are beginning to wind down the 2024 season, our first season ever! So far it has been a great experience, a lot of learning and a lot of doing and doing it as best as we can. We have attended events in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, all of which we were blessed with good turn out from our members and able to field a full gun crew at each reenactment. We also participated in some great programming at Minuteman National Historic Park with our friends at the National Park Service, the first firing demonstration in many, many years at that location. We were able to participate as the ceremonial artillery piece at the change of command for the Lexington Minutemen, a ceremony which has been conducted as far back as the early 1900's. At that event we were able to fire our 3 pounder on the Lexington Battle Green, a hallowed and honored location where the American Revolution began just shy of 250 years ago. We have made many great connections in the hobby at large and have been invited to many more events and ceremonies that are beginning to shape starting next year! Check out our photos page for some shots from this years activities!

August 2024 - We are fresh off our first public event at Old Sturbridge Village. We were able to field with a complete gun crew of seven during the course of the weekend, not bad for our first time out! Despite the weather being hot and muggy all members of Knox's performed admirably during a hot action and pulling our gun around the event. We had a fantastic spot on the OSV town common and were able to engage with hundreds of visitors during the weekend. We received many compliments from the public and reenactors alike on our the appearance of our camp, uniforms and the guns. We look forward to our next events in Bristol, RI and Minuteman National Historic Park and possibly another one or two events to be added to the schedule at the end of the season!

March 2024 - Bring on 2024! We have recently held our first unit meeting, and sign ups for our unit are underway. We are very happy to report that we have 11 folks who have signed up! This is a great start for the unit. We are working out where to hold training days going forward and getting folks in kit to be able to get us to events and into the field here in 2024. A lot of work has been put in this far to get this project off the ground! We are excited to see where it goes! In other news we have commissioned a true gun metal (brass) barrel for our Light 3. This will bring the authenticity of Gun 1 up to a much higher level, we will sell the current iron tube off when we get the brass one in hand. We have patterned our "heavy" 3 pound cannon carriage and have commissioned that to be built. We expect to take delivery of it first quarter of 2025!
December 25th 2023- Huzzah! Our cannon has arrived! A wonderful Christmas gift! This past week our founder Sean conducted a road trip to Tennessee to retrieve our 3 pounder. It was a long trip consisting of 1950 miles driven over 33 hours in two days to go down and pick it up. We have posted two quick photos of the gun to our photos page, we will post many more detailed photos in the near future! We are working on some finishing touches to the carriage to tidy some things up and we will be in business. If you have visited our site before or have been following any of our content and have ever considered reenacting, now is the time. Reach out to us on our contact form, or find us on Instagram or FB on the link buttons above!

October 30th 2023 - Exciting news! We have taken delivery of our first uniform! There is a photo of our uniform on the Photos page! We have been given word that our 3pr cannon is complete. With some real world non-hobby obligations we will be driving down to Tennessee to pick it up sometime towards the end of November or early December. We are excited to meet the good folks at Trail Rock Ordnance and pick up our cannon and discuss future projects. Plenty of photos and content here on the web, our Instagram and YouTube will be posted once we get it home!

October 8th 2023 - We have received some additional images of our 3 pounder cannon, which is very close to being done we have added the picture of the carriage to our photos page. It is at the point where the barrel just has to be placed onto the carriage. We have also tracked down a 6 pounder barrel and a full complete 5.5" howitzer. We will be adding the howitzer in the coming months when we have an opportunity to travel to pick it up and intend on commissioning the 6 pound cannon next year with a hopefully delivery of early 2025. We have also launched our YouTube channel, at youtube.com/@knoxsartillery and we will be releasing a whole bunch of great content related to artillery, reenacting and other 18th Century topics! We've linked it on the top of the page, please check it out!

September 5th 2023 - Added several images to the photos page. Added the uniform guidelines and vendor list to the authenticity standards page. On the photos page you will see that there are several images of the cannon carriage under construction. We spoke with Steve, the owner of Trail Rock Ordnance, he informed us we should still be on track for a late September/early October delivery!! Posted these same updates to our social media pages, as always if you have not followed us on Facebook or Instagram, click the icon links on the main page header above to follow us! As active as we intend on being on this web page, IG and FB will be the main hubs of information and content!
