It has been a minute since we last posted. Just wanted to post what we have been up to for the last several months. Summed up in one word: Progress. We have been working with our tailor partners in refining the patterns that will be used to make up the coats and other uniform items we will be wearing. Also we have received our first order of accouterments!

Included in this order is a gunners pouch, (of British, Royal Artillery pattern) An ammunition pouch, two bricoles (the straps with rings) and a gunners powder horn. These all came from our friend Jim Keller up in Canada who does excellent work and we were excited to receive them.

In addition to the equipment in the photo we also received an officers shoulder carriage for a sword and bayonet. We found images from the 18th Century Material Culture's website of a surviving, original officers belt tip. It was dug at the Jacobos Vanderveer house, which is located in close proximity to Pluckemin, NJ. Pluckemin was the site of the winter cantonment of the Continental Artillery in 1778-1779, as well as being host to a supply point, and laboratory to the army. Then Brigadier General Henry Knox lived in the Jacobos Vanderveer house during this time. We recreated that belt tip and it will be worn by our lieutenant.

We are still waiting on a few other things, namely the cannon! We will be touching base with the foundry casting the barrel in early April and will hopefully have an updated timeline for completion at the time. Our carriage maker, Trail Rock Ordnance has already started construction of some of the smaller components to our gun carriage. As we inch ever closer toward April we are looking forward to kicking off the 2023 season, including participating (as militia) in the Battle Road and North Bridge events in Massachusetts. We will also be taking a trip to the library of the Society of the Cincinnati in Washington D.C. sometime in April for a research trip. There are some items related to the material culture of Knox's Regiment as well as other Revolutionary War American artillery that we hope to look at and learn more about how exactly we should look.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!

Some additional images of the equipment we lately received.
